Bitcoin (BTC) Mining Agency BitD today announced that it has earned a 101-megawat gas-powered power plant near Fox Creek, Alberta to create a “vertically integrated” BTC mining operation.
“We are really excited about the roots of our first site in Canada. This acquisition ends with multiple government agencies and Canadian Blockchain Consortium, end Press releaseThe “It identifies an important step in our technique to become our first fully -described Bitcoin miner, giving us comparative control over our expenditure, energy skills and skillibility.”
BitD says they are planning to create a 99 MW datacener on the site. The site has the ability to scale 1 gigwatt. The cost of manufacturing energy for convenience will be between 20 and 25 dollars per megawatt/hour.
The plant is also licensed for 99 MW interconnection on the local power grid, and Bitdie said that high demand is planning to sell electricity back to Alberta grid to stabilize prices during the period.
“By combining the participation of our own power, sealmina mining machine and opportunistic grid, we believe that this site will set up a new standard for the industrial unit economy,” added.
BitD says that it is planned to prepare the site in Q2 2025 and start developing the initial infrastructure and it is fully effective in 2026.
