5 Observations: Konecny, Hayes Spark Flyers' Impressive Outburst In Win
It morphed into another Throwback Thursday at the Wells Fargo center,
and the Philadelphia Flyers paid tribute to their stars from the '90s.
Eric Lindros comes to town and bangs the
drum to start a "let's move Flyers" chant before the sport.
Playing their first game at home considering December 20, they
conceded five second-round goals, five! — and defeated Arizona, 6-2.
It was his most purposeful result this season, giving the
Flyers (15-17-7) four straight wins for the first time in years.
Goaltender Carter Hart called it one of
the Flyers' best complete games of the season.
“That's probably the worst game we've played in two years,” he
said after the Coyotes (13-19-5) lost their 11th straight street contest.
Can anyone provide an explanation of how Konecny was
overlooked (to date) for the Metro department's big name team?
No offense to Kevin Hayes, who is having his best season and
was named to the team, but Konecny has been the Flyers' premier forward.
