An Aug. 17 Instagram post shows a purported article about parents deciding a baby was transgender after their infant crawled over to a pink card two times and a blue card once.

The article, headlined "Discovering our baby was trans was an emotional rollercoaster," features a picture of a couple holding their supposedly transgender daughter dressed in a tutu.

"I'm sick of this Twisted Agenda being pushed on our children/youth," the post's caption reads. "This babyboy has no idea yet the wickedness surrounding him. He hasn't even had a chance in life yet to grow into the Man he's destined to be. I'm Baffled. This is pure CHILD ABUSE.""I'm sick of this Twisted Agenda being pushed on our children/youth," the post's caption reads. "This babyboy has no idea yet the wickedness surrounding him. He hasn't even had a chance in life yet to grow into the Man he's destined to be. I'm Baffled. This is pure CHILD ABUSE."

Only a few sentences of the supposed article are shown in the post. In those, one of the parents explains that they were initially disappointed when the baby chose a blue card, but were elated after the baby selected a pink card twice, calling it "a miracle."

Though the post's like count is currently hidden, it previously garnered nearly 100 likes, according to independent fact-checkers. The Instagram account that posted the image of the article, blackmanskeeperofficial, has more than 5,000 followers.

While the family in the photo is real, the image of the article is altered, and the sentences accompanying it are fabricated. The original article that used the same photo is about a couple who halted their own transitions to have a daughter.

The Mirror also published an article about the family, and Barcroft TV featured the couple in an episode of "My Trans Life." National Geographic included a photograph of Johnson and his daughter in its 2018 article titled "Is Maternal Instinct Only for Moms? Here's the Science."

USA TODAY has previously debunked other claims about gender identity, including baseless assertions about a transgender program at a children's hospital and a woman kidnapping her granddaughter to stop a reassignment procedure.

Based on our research, we rate ALTERED an image that purportedly shows an article about a couple with a transgender baby.
