This was after Putrajaya revealed that he was deported last August at the behest of the Pakistani government

Fawad had been in exile in Malaysia for 11 years because he feared persecution at home for writing high-profile reviews of Islamabad.

In a letter to Anwar, lawyer P Waytha Moorthy claimed that the Pakistani authorities were insincere in their request for Fawad's deportation

Fawad's wife, Syeda, denied that her husband was a police officer after Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said earlier this week

Waytha said that in 2020, Pakistan had tried to place Fawad on Interpol's purple list, and the global corporation rejected 

"But, the Pakistani government appears to have misled the Malaysian authorities in August 2022 into believing that Fawad was wanted
