SpaceX could launch the first Starlink Gen2 satellites next week
In most of the major STA applications filed in early December, SpaceX appears to be asking the FCC to add Starlink Gen2 satellites
These include their new high performance general chainrings, the newer base version chainrings (both fixed and movable)
and the first generation chainrings (spherical). While the FCC's recent actions on Starlink do not improve its self-confidence in its consistency, objectivity
SpaceX is also seeking permission to activate very high frequency (VHF) beacons for installation on all Starlink Gen2 satellites.
Those beacons would serve as a backup for existing telemetry, monitoring and command (TT&C) antennas and reduce tamper-free rates
Given how amazingly it took the FCC to review SpaceX's Starlink Gen2 packages and how arbitrarily strict it was with its provided partial Gen2
